Who we are
fairdeal.ie is run by Alderidge Fusion Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 816930), registered office 27 Castlesize Drive, Sallins, Co. Kildare, W91 Y9E8. We decide how your information is used, so we are the “controller” under data protection law.
To contact us about your information, email derek@legacysteps.ie or phone 087 759 9848.
fairdeal.ie is an independent service. It is not run by, connected to, or approved by the HSE.
The short version
- The calculator works on your own device. Nothing you type into it is sent to us.
- When you fill in the official HSE form or a request letter with us, your answers stay on your own phone or computer. PPS numbers, bank balances and income figures are never sent to us.
- If you buy a service, we keep your email address, the first name you give, your answers to the checklist questions and your progress, so we can provide the service.
- We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
What we collect, and why
The calculator
The calculator runs in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us. If you ask us to tell you when the service opens, we keep your email address so we can do that.
The free checklist
If you ask us to email you the free document checklist, we keep your email address, the first name you give, your answers to the checklist questions and the checklist itself. We use them to send you the checklist, and we may email you once about our paid service. We receive a copy of the request so we can help if you reply.
Buying a service
When you buy “Form only”, “Full service” or the upgrade, we keep:
- your email address and the first name you give;
- your answers to the checklist questions, for example whether the applicant is married, owns a home, or is able to sign the form;
- a record of the payment: what you bought, the amount and the date;
- a record that you ticked the box at checkout, with the date and the wording you agreed to.
Some answers can reveal information about the applicant’s health, such as whether they are able to sign the form, or whether they are in hospital or a nursing home. We use these answers only to prepare your pack, checklist and reminders, and only because you agree to it when you tick the box at checkout.
Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Your tracker (Full service)
Your tracker keeps your checklist, which items you have ticked, the dates you mark (for example when you posted the form), the support office area you choose, and a log of the emails we send you. We use these to show your progress and to send your reminders.
Your tracker is opened with a private link. We store only a scrambled version of the link, so we cannot recreate it.
What stays on your own device
When you fill in the official HSE form or a request letter on fairdeal.ie, what you type is kept in your browser on your own phone or computer, and the completed form is created there. It is not sent to us. We only record that a form was downloaded, not what was in it. You can remove your answers at any time with “Clear my answers from this device”. Clearing your browser’s data also removes them.
Our legal reasons for using your information
- To provide the service you bought (contract): your email, name, answers, tracker and reminders.
- Your explicit consent: for answers that may reveal information about health. You can withdraw it by emailing us, although we will then not be able to continue the service.
- Legal obligation: keeping payment records for six years for tax purposes.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, and replying to your questions.
- Your consent: the calculator sign-up and the one email about our service after the free checklist. You can ask us to stop at any time.

We use these companies to run fairdeal.ie. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.
- Supabase stores our database, in a data centre in Ireland.
- Vercel hosts the website pages.
- Resend sends our emails.
- Stripe processes card payments.
The website also loads fonts from Google Fonts, and the form-filling tool from jsDelivr. When your browser does this, those services see your device’s internet address, as with any website.
Some of these companies are based in the United States. Where information is transferred outside the European Economic Area, they rely on the safeguards allowed by data protection law, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.
We do not share your information with the HSE or anyone else. You send your application to the HSE yourself.

- Payments not completed: deleted after 30 days.
- Free checklist requests: deleted after 12 months.
