What your visitors see
Families looking into nursing home care ask the same question first: what will it cost each week? The fairdeal.ie calculator answers it in two minutes from the HSE’s published rules, with no name and nothing stored. You can show it in either of two ways.
- The calculator itself, inside your page, sized to fit. The family enters income, savings, the value of the home and, if they know it, the nursing home’s weekly price, and sees their estimated contribution and what the HSE pays.
- A short panel headed “How much might Fair Deal cost?” with one button that opens the full calculator on fairdeal.ie in a new tab. Lighter, and it suits a sidebar or the end of an article.
Both carry the line “Independent Fair Deal information and calculator provided by fairdeal.ie. Not the HSE.” Your site is not giving financial advice; it is pointing to an independent calculator.
Try it: your code and your line of code
Type the code fairdeal.ie gave you (or leave demo to try it), choose the calculator or the panel, and copy the line into your page where you want it to appear. It works on WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and any site that lets you add an HTML block.
A nursing home can add data-fee="1250" with its own weekly price, so the calculator opens with the price already filled in.
This is how it looks on a page:
What you can see
Every partner code is counted separately, as anonymous daily totals. Nothing about any visitor is kept, and nothing a family types is sent anywhere. Each month, or whenever you ask, fairdeal.ie sends you four numbers for your code:
There is no payment either way. fairdeal.ie is paid only by families who choose its application service, and your visitors are never charged for the calculator or the checklist.
Who this suits
- Solicitors with pages on enduring powers of attorney, wills, probate or elder law. The calculator answers the cost question your client asks before the legal one.
- Financial advisers and accountants whose clients are planning for a parent’s care, or their own.
- Nursing homes and groups: the calculator with your own weekly price filled in, on your admissions page.
- Home care providers, charities and carers’ organisations whose readers are weighing up nursing home care.
Getting a code
Email derek@fairdeal.ie with the name of your organisation and the address of your website, and you will have a code the same day. If you would rather put the line on your site first and ask for a code afterwards, that works too; the calculator runs without one, it just cannot be counted for you until the code is in.
fairdeal.ie is run by Alderidge Fusion Limited, an independent company. It is not the HSE and has no connection to it. The calculator gives an estimate from the published rules of the Nursing Homes Support Scheme; the HSE decides every application.
